African-aMerican People Succeeding
The magazine was founded in Shreveport, LA by Mr. Roosevelt Wright, III in 2000 as a strategic combination of Ebony, Black Enterprise, and Vibe Magazine and was initially designed to serve as a pipeline of positive information by highlighting the most affluent of our regional community and to introduce them to a national and international audience. Following in the steps of its predecessors, AMPS is now the dominant local & regional media outlet for areas of choice around the country.
Our goal is to inform the surrounding communities of the market that exists around them and what the community has to offer. At the same time, we would like to provide opportunities and a vision for the advancement of our target audience. AMPS has a vision of giving minority businesses the same opportunity to promote on the same level as national corporations, by promoting positive images and covering the areas of importance in the African-American community including religion, health, social life, and corporate America.
Starting out as a simple publication with an initial distribution of 6,000, up 66.67% to 10,000 with an ever-growing audience, AMPS Magazine has just expanded with the Chicago Region edition to cover more of the Midwest along with its Indianapolis and Kansas City counterparts. The mission of AMPS Magazine is:
“Superior application development through dedicated professionalism while maintaining a customer-centric focus to lead the industry in ideas and creative solutions”.
